Hannah Dickinson is an incoming freshman, majoring in Biology with a minor in French at the University of Florida. She is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, and was the president and founder of her high school’s Red Cross Club while it was active. She is planning on becoming on entering medical school after graduating and becoming an ophthalmologist. After her grandfather was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, she has been interested in learning as much as she can about the disorder and how it can be prevented in the future.

Danielle DuPuis is a Senior in the honors college at the University of Florida studying Microbiology and Cell Sciences with a minor in Spanish and a certificate of Music in Medicine.  She is the former president of the UF Undergraduate American Medical Women’s Association and founder of UF Music Meets Medicine, spreading awareness about novel research and bringing music to the veterans at her local VA Hospital.  As a musician of over 14 years, Danielle is fascinated by the humanistic benefits of the arts in healthcare and plans to incorporate the arts into her practice as a future physician.  After medical school, she aspires to enter the disciplines of Ophthalmology or Dermatology.  She is very grateful for Shane Retina’ support in her medical journey.

Lavanya Durai is a senior at the University of Florida studying Biology and Political Science with a minor in Sustainability Studies. She is currently a leader in UF Undergraduate American Medical Women’s Association (UF uAMWA), creates educational content for social media about public health, and does research on arts in medicine and hand biomechanics. Lavanya hopes to expand and bring her many interests including art, nutrition, and teaching into her practice as a future physician. She looks forward to enjoying her senior year and is very grateful to Shane Retina for supporting her education.
